There’s Still Time to Make This Year Count

It’s October 1, 2026 and as we get closer to the end of the year, it’s easy to start winding down. We may look at the calendar, think about everything we didn’t accomplish, and decide, “I’ll just start in January.”

But why write off the rest of the year?

There’s still time to make meaningful progress. You may not accomplish every goal before December 31, but you can start building momentum now and enter the new year already moving forward.

Why Do We Put Things Off?

Procrastination isn’t always about being lazy. Sometimes we delay starting because the goal feels too big. We convince ourselves we need more time, more experience, a better plan, or the perfect opportunity.

And sometimes, it’s fear.

What if I try and it doesn’t work? What if I’m not good at it? What if I’m starting too late?

Waiting can feel safer than trying. But waiting also keeps an idea as just that an idea.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin. You can learn as you go. Your first attempt doesn’t have to be your best attempt. It just has to be a start.

There’s Still Time to Make Progress

Think about what you could accomplish with just a few hours of focused effort each week.

You could learn a new design skill, update your portfolio, take an online course, start creating content, refresh your website or brand, connect with potential clients, or finally begin that passion project you keep thinking about.

Will you master everything before the year ends? Probably not but that isn’t the point.

The goal is progress, not perfection.

Instead of arriving in January thinking about what you want to start, imagine arriving there with weeks of learning, creating, experimenting, and growing already behind you.

Here’s the Real Tea

The end of the year doesn’t have to mean the end of your effort.

You don’t need January 1, a new month, or even a Monday to give yourself permission to begin. Whether you want to learn something new, make a career move, or finally pursue an idea you’ve been sitting on, there’s still time in this year.

Start now. You might be surprised by how far you can get.
